comparison to a saint

some might say as my mother that barack obama is the second comeing of the in my opinion the thirtenth apposal dr.martin luther king.well i thought this was an fasinating strech t so i pondered what would dr.king say about iran aqi.the terrorist and so on abortion gunrights illegal immagration.this is soley my opion first lets tackle iraq being dr.king was against vietnam and explotation of sending young african americans mostly to the front lines i think it would be fair to assume that not onetime would he have given authorization to fund anywar because dr.king was non violent and was against any destruction of man kind what so ever.sen obama spoke out against the war yet upon arriving in the senate he voted twice to fund the war.also troops would propbly leave iraq immediatly under a king administration.not 2 years from now.gay rights and union between man and women .if you review any of dr.king material on this matter well youll be intrested what he has to say.not that its right but he aso beleived it was immoral.im only comparing the two sen obama support same sex unions but dosent support gay marriage.i would assume if it was politcaly correct to support such a propsal he would support it.i think dr. king would not have supported it in any fashion. now gun rights because dr king as well as jesus was non violent dr king beleived he who lives by the sword shall die by the sword so it is my beleif as well as dr king that there is no need for guns anywhere in america.in a country where 350 million guns exist yea a gun for people that isnt even born yet.sen obama supports some gun rights but not all dr king supports no gun rights period.now the big issue abortion .now this is only my opinion but its about the comparison.not the issues.dr king beleived that life begines at conception so dr king never would have supported any abortion laws what so ever and i dont think jesus would have either.sen obama supports a womens right to choose and so dose 70 percent of the country including me.dr.king no matter what the country thought would not support abortion in any case except rape or insest.just my opinon that dr king no matter what opinion pols said would have and always will walk and talk with jesus so my friends there is no comparison to a saint. now aqi i beleive since dr king belei ved in non violent approaches it is fair to assume that even after 911 dr king would still allow the murdering bastards to live it is fair to assume that obama wants bin laden head on a platter but only if you new dr.king and what he was about for all humans every man and women life is presuse and yes he would have forgave them including one more guy jesus. illegal immagration since dr.king beleived in human rights opening the orders to mexico in my opinon would be a no brainer for him come one come all might not be the words he would have chosen but you know he would beleive it and probly would not support any immagration bill period.sen obama supports some immagration but not all i wonder what would jesus say i think come children of mexico let us eat together and worship and prosper together or something like that and so would dr.king .sen obama supports some restrictions which means code word your not our equal or third class citizens thats why we allow 1miilion mexicans to die in the desert. i dont think dr king would allow such a thing.now what this blog is about under no circustance would dr.king would support anything less than 100 percent of his time and effort to those 28000 that die everyday it is my beleif that everyday he spoke you woud here him say to us we have to do something not in stump speaches and since dr king was an advid doner it is no questioned what he would do with 500million dollars as well as that other guy we know jesus.so once again we think of the good looking fellow that makes us feel good with the promises of change and hope when all along the real change is within in us all to walk as dr king did not to long ago and talk with him.not compair.

LB, as much as I respect you I just don't understad why you hate him so much. From the very beginning, from our first converstation it seemed like you don't want to like him . He is for civil rights, he is for human rights. He has an A+ rating from every human rights organization there is. He isn't perfect, ok...I get that , but he isn't some lying crook either.

be real with me, why aren't you willing to give him a fair try?

are you kidding me barack had my support 4 years ago a the dmc convention remember blue states red states were all one country speech .and from that point on he became the annoited .now bein the skeptic that i am i became very suspicious of why we the establishment take a unknown senator from illinois which some of my freinds from that area allways describe it as the worst place to find jobs.and vertually know hope in some of the worst projects in the nation.vertually no change in twenty years.want this guy president .and it dawned i hope you understand this is personal that just maybe they really dont want change if nothing has changed in twenty years in chicago illinois.

If I can find proof that things have gotten better in Chicago, will that help?

Change takes time and it takes patience and there is a well established "club" of powerful people who are fighting very hard to stop it.

Dr. King understood what he was up against, the changes he fought for are STILL not all accomplished. No, I'm not comparing Obama to King ....I'm just saying that no matter how hard you fight , it takes a long time to meet your goals.

I wonder if you would have held Dr. King to the same impossible standards you hold Obama to if you had been of age back then. Maybe thats why you and your Mom don't agree about this. She has lived through at least 40 years of slow progress and she has seen how hard it is to get where you want to be.

i hold anyone just as tavis smiley dose accountable towards my people the canadit that we support is the canadit that will die for the cause.thats a standard that few men can acheive.but it is a standard that we beleive must be perserved for the few that meet this threshhold.now youll say that thats absurb.but if you would have seen and lived the black exsperience in america youll understand why these standards are of great importance to me tavis smiley and allot of african americans who feel he hasnt met the standard will he die for the cause we beleive not.

But which cause? This goes right back to the Nader comments.

I would guess that most A.Americans care about civil rights/anti discrimination. Beyond that, don't they just care about the same issues as everybody else?

Dr. King didn't die for less crime in ghettos....he died in the hope that there wouldn't be any ghettos. He died so that if there still had to be ghettos , they wouldn't automatically be filled with black people just because the good ole boy mentality didn't want them in white neighborhoods.

To insist that the only issues black people care about are the ones associated with poverty...and to ignore the fact that their are *plenty*of white people in poverty goes against the most basic principle teachings of Dr. King.

Yes, there are some issues that need to be addressed (like racial profiling by police) but overall most of us are just people worrying about the same thing.

Maybe I just don't get it. I haven't lived the black experience. But I have lived the poor ( half)white trash , foster care, absent parent, bad neighborhood, looked down upon, on food stamps, broke as hell experience. When I was young, in Arizona...I was a half breed kid in a mostly Mexican town. My father grew up on a reservation , and most people thought Indians were dirty thieves. What do you suppose they thought of a white woman who married one? Then , in Nebraska I was surrounded by whites who thought the same thing.

When I was at the Home for bad/ abandoned kids we would have tourists would would stand outside our windows and take pictures of us, like we were zoo animals. If you smiled at one of their kids they'd pull them close and glare at you like you had a disease they didn't want their kid to catch. You'd get followed around in stores because you went to " that school for deliquents" so you must be a thief. Nobody would hire you for the same reason.
And you couldn't say anything to any of them because we relied on their donations for a roof over our heads. Thats pretty humiliating.

So no, I may not understand the black experience but believe me....just being white doesn't mean everything is always peachy either.

thats why the connection is real with your politics as well as mine true all politics is local but to me its personal.you got what you have we just see things different. just as its hard to visualize what your seeing in obama its hard for you see what im not seeing.it gose to our life exsperiences your experencies reflect why you beleive in hope and change vs my life exsperices tells me to not trust but verify sort of like regan in a sense.neither veiw is wrong nor right but at the sametime there is a middle ground and his name is collin powell but hes not running ralph naders is not the perfect guy but i can beleive him when he took on the car companies there was threats on his life he refused security and got the companies to admit that they indeed engaged in that kind of activitie.and yes as an african american we really do look for the guy thats willing to die for what they beleive in.ralph was willing to put it on the line for seatbelts for crying out loud if that dosnt tell ya hes willing to go all out for us then nothing dose.and yes dr king didnt die for ghettos he dided for us to be able to do the very thing were doing now black and white comeing together under one cause freedom for all people not just americans but all people.

Amen to that.

I respected Nader until he basically said that all black people worry about is ghetto issues. If he has to use race to divide us, I can't respect him . I respect people who can disagree with me without using fear tactics.

He used fear tactics....he reminded people that
A) Obama is a black guy. Look out whitey, he's handing your country over to those scary, welfare taking, restitution wanting lazy black people who want your jobs.

and
B) watch out black people, Obama is going to sell you to the white man so they'll vote for him.

Payday lending!! Lead in the ghettos!! He's too black, he isn't black enough !! OMG!! His middle name is Hussein !!!!! Be afraid of him !!!1

Nader could have chosen to address the issues, he didn't AND he didn't even have his facts straight. He lost me forever.

thats so understandable but im not talking 15 second sound bites but a life time of fighting for the little guys and well as pressuring the world leaders to do something about green house gases more than twenty years ago.he may have lost you and i understand why but the work he has done n behalf of the american people is without questioned admirable to say the least and he has never stop fighting corporate america to protect and defend the little guy the unheard voices that scream out loud quit takeing my tax dollars and in the form of health care reform corporate subsidies and military might and welfare for forein goverments as well as human rights violators bail outs.the only ones who benefits from any policy decesions is the corporations and ralph wants to put and end to all of that and bring our tax dollars back to the american people.

You are right, and I really should give him the benefit of the doubt, so I will. Maybe he didn't mean it the way I am taking it.
